What this site is
This is a marketing website. It describes what we build, where we work, and how to reach us. Using it does not create a contract between us and does not make anyone a customer.
Estimates and contracts
Nothing on this website is a price quote, an offer, or a commitment to do work. Prices, scope, schedule and payment terms exist only in a written estimate or a signed contract that names your project and your address.
Massachusetts law requires home improvement contracts to be in writing and to include specific terms, including a full payment schedule, your three-day right to cancel, and any warranty on workmanship or materials. You will get that document before work starts. If a contractor in Massachusetts ever asks you to start without it, that is a warning sign, and it applies to us as much as to anyone else.
Licensing
We are registered with the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation as a Home Improvement Contractor. Our registration number appears on this page, in the footer of every page of this site, and on every estimate and contract we issue. You can verify it yourself at the state's public registry.
We are insured. We will show you the current certificate on request.
Photos on this site
Some images on this site are illustrations rather than photographs of a specific Vanguard project. Where an image shows a real project of ours, the result is specific to that home, that budget and that scope. Your project will look like your project.
Reviews
The reviews shown on this site are published on Google by the people who wrote them. We reproduce them word for word and do not edit them. We do not write reviews, we do not pay for reviews, and we do not remove the ones we would rather not read.
Using this site
Use it to learn about our work and to contact us. Do not try to break into it, scrape it, overload it, or use it to send us anything unlawful. Do not submit someone else's contact information as if it were your own, and do not submit a request you have no intention of following up on. Every form submission reaches a person who is going to pick up the phone.
What belongs to whom
The text, photographs, illustrations, logo and design on this site belong to us or to the people we licensed them from. You can share a link to any page. You cannot copy the content onto another website, and you cannot use our name or logo to suggest we are connected to your business when we are not.
If you send us a photo of your project, you keep it. You are giving us permission to use it to prepare your estimate and to plan the work. If we ever want to show it publicly, we will ask you first.
Links to other sites
We link to our Google Business Profile, to our social media pages, and sometimes to a manufacturer. We do not run those sites and we are not responsible for what is on them.
Accuracy and availability
We try to keep this site accurate and current, but we build houses for a living. Descriptions, service areas and details can go out of date, and the site can go offline for maintenance or for reasons outside our control. Nothing here is a guarantee that the site will be available or error free.
Limits
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of this website. This limit applies to the website only. It does not limit our responsibility for the construction work we perform, which is governed by your contract, by our warranty, and by Massachusetts law.
Nothing in these terms waives any right you have under Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 142A or Chapter 93A.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and any dispute about this website belongs in the state or federal courts of Essex County, Massachusetts.
Changes
We can update these terms. The effective date at the top tells you when they last changed.
